Simple Step To Perfectly Half Boiled Egg

Our economy are getting worst as purchasing power becoming less powerful among the Rakyat. So let us save our RM3 from kopitiam and make our own Telur Setengah masak yang Perfect!  

1. pour tap water in cooking pot (enough to totally submerge egg. don't put egg yet!). bring water to boil. turn off gas.

2. NOW you can put your chilled egg (don't forget to wash egg first!) into the boiled water.

3. let it sit for 10 - 15 minute. then take it out. 
(if you don't want to eat immediately, put some cold water into the bowl to stop egg from cooking. DONT CRACK IT YET!)

4. crack egg open, put some pepper and few drops maggi season sos. EAT! Sedap giler kann???

Subjek : Langkah Mudah Menyediakan Telur Separuh Masak yang Sempurna

1. tadah air paip dalam periuk (cukup untuk tenggelamkan telur). masak air hingga mendidih. tutup api.

2.  rendamkan telur dalam air mendidih selama 10 - 15 minit (basuh telur dulu!). 

3. lepas itu, keluarkan telur, pecahkan dan letak sedikit lada sulah dan beberapa titik maggi season sos. MAKAN! Sedap giler kann??
(kalau belum nak makan, isi air setengah mangkuk dan simpan tepi. air untuk menghentikan proses memasak telur)

Saturday Quickie!

Assalamualaikum and a very beautiful Saturday morning readers! :-)

How long has it been since I last blog? Almost two months, yes?

So many things has happened in my life since then.  I haven't had time to write about anything and have only been baking Red Velvet and nothing much.

Ordered by cousin :-)

The Red Velvet frenzy started when I bumped into my cousin whilst attending an entrepreneur's seminar at Menara TM somewhere early November. We were talking when he suddenly asked whether I am still pursuing my baking or are doing something else. Of course I still bake! Who would stop doing something they love? ;-) Apparently his wife has been wanting to order my Red Velvet after she had a taste of it once on my cousin's wedding last year.

The complaint I get from my cousin is that most of the Red Velvet sold in KL is either too spongy or too vinegar-ish (if there is such a term :-p).

Here's a tip if you want to save money on buttermilk. Always put the vinegar ratio 1 tsp for every 1 cup of milk. Leave the milk-vinegar mixture for about 5 minutes and check if the milk is ready. If it is curdled, then it's ready to be use. I got this tip from Laura In The Kitchen, how could I not spread the words! The more you share, the more you learn, yes? :-)

Kek Cawan Tema Fashionista

Assalamualaikum & Good Monday Semua :-)

Alhamdulillah cuaca kelihatan baik hari ini setelah hujan berturut-turut di Kuala Lumpur minggu lepas. Saya yakin ramai pembuat kek, terutama yang perlu berurusan dengan fondan tidak gemar cuaca hujan dan lembab.

Hal yang paling mencabar untuk newbie macam saya adalah cuba mendapatkan texture yang betul untuk fondan dan pes gam agar ia tidak terlalu kering atau terlalu lembik semasa cuaca lembab. Saya tidak mempunyai kemudahan penghawa dingin, maka saya perlu menyesuaikan texture fondan saya dengan keadaan cuaca semasa. Penguasaan pengetahuan ini hanya akan kita miliki melalui pengalaman. Seorang guru fondan boleh mengajar cara-cara membuat fondan dan memberitahu apa masalah pada fondan tersebut, tetapi hanya dengan latihan berulang kali dan pengalaman sendiri akan memberikan kita cukup penguasaan tentang fondan, dan juga pes gam.

Minggu lepas, alhamdulillah, saya mendapat pelanggan, yakni kawan baik saya sendiri, yang inginkan tema fashionista untuk kek cawan sempena hari jadinya sabtu lepas. Teruja betul saya nak mulakan projek fashionista ini kerana saya tidak pernah membuat tema Fashionista :-) Jangan cakap la berapa buah kasut yang terkorban semasa cuba membuat kasut tumit tinggi, lihat saja gambar di bawah :



Namun, alhamdulillah dapat juga saya siapkan sepasang kasut tumit tinggi walaupun terpaksa mencuba berulang kali. Untuk tema fashionista ini, saya membuat beg tangan, rantai, topi pantai, sedikit make up daaaaaaan beruang yang comel khas untuk tuan punya badan! :-)

Gift Cupcake (Newly Wed)

Assalamualaikum and Good Sunday Morning dearest!


This was ordered by my old colleague, to be presented as a gift to her newly wed friend, which i think is super sweet and thoughtful of her :-)

It's a chocolate cupcake with chocolate ganache topped with fondant. The fondant design was inspired by one of M&M Cupcake design, requested by my customer.

Since I am still new to the field, I follow a lot of baking blogs to learn and keep up with the trend.One of the many things I learn and understand is, we must always respect people's intellectual right and design. Thus, prior to starting my cupcake I make sure I get the permission of the owner, not to copy her design, but to use her design as a guide. And of course, the owner was, not only kind enough to let me use her design as a guide, but also wish me luck with the best of intentions! Thank you so much kakak M&M Cupcake! :-)

We can never take lightly people's pride of their work. They work hard, sacrifice time and money to achieve and be at the level they are now, some of them are very sensitive of their hard work and design. Hence, we cannot be too eager to create something and overlook this side of thought process.

Auntie's Wedding Cake - Quilted Pattern


Assalamualaikum and good day readers! I hope your days have been good and kind, and if it has been challenging and difficult, then let's confront the challenge with gusto and a humble prayer to God to always help and care for us in our daily tasks :-)


The picture above is my Auntie's wedding cake which I attempt to make a day before her wedding two weeks ago. How's the design ? Ok I hope :-)

I never made the quilted pattern before, obviously it is more difficult then it looks! What I thought will take me an hour to finish (for the quilted pattern ONLY), took me TWO & HALF hours! Never mind the time it took to complete the whole look... Oh boy~ That sure had taught me not to underestimate a simple design. These are my inspirations for the design:

The cake is carrot cake with cream cheese filling. The whole cake took me a day to finish, from 11 morning to 12 midnight, which includes ingredients shopping ;-)

To my auntie, Cik Ros and my new uncle, Cik Din, I pray for both of you, a wonderful life together and always enjoy each other's company and companionship, through difficult and ease. What more a person can ask in a partner right ;-)

Kelas Latihan Kek Berfondan

Assalamualaikum :-)

Selamat Pagi Jumaat Semua! Dah lama tak update blog ni... tentu sudah tiada pembaca lagi. InshaAllah mulai hari ini saya akan cuba mengemaskini entri dengan kerap dan berkongsi pelbagai hasil air tangan saya.

Minggu lepas saya berkesempatan menuntut ilmu bersama Pn Yasmin Sanusi untuk mempelajari bagaimana menghasilkan kek perkahwinan, figurine, dan kek hantaran beg tangan. Banyak yang saya pelajari daripada kak Min, orangnya pun ramah dan baik. Di bawah adalah gambar-gambar kek hasil latihan bersama kak Min :-)

Fondant Wedding Cake, atau Kek Perkahwinan Berfondan. 
Nampak macam mudahkan? Dalam kelas ini, Kak Min mengajar bagaimana membuat fondan daripada sifar, yakni dari bahan-bahan asas. Kemudian barulah pelajar akan belajar bagaimana membuat reben, kain hiasan tepi, skirting di bawah kek, bunga ros serta daun daripada fondan.

Fondant Figurine, atau Patung Fondan. 
Dalam kelas ni kak Min mengajar teknik-teknik membuat patung haiwan dan manusia daripada fondan. Tak payah banyak cakap, tengok la sendiri hasil dia melalui gambar di atas ;-p mungkin belum sempurna, InshaAllah akan disempurnakan melalui latihan-latihan yang kerap :-)

Dan terakhir adalah, Fondant Handbag, atau Fondan Beg Tangan. 
Oh, di dalamnya Kak Min menggunakan kek betul, dan sampai ke hari ini saya belum memotong kek ini sebab sayang nak makan! Kek Patung Fondan dan Kek Perkahwinan cuma menggunakan polyfoam, jadi boleh digunakan untuk hiasan atau kenangan sendiri :-)
